The 2027 PGA Tour season features some of golf’s most famous venues, including Pebble Beach, St Andrews and PGA Frisco.
The PGA Tour has officially unveiled its 2027 schedule, and golf fans have plenty to circle on the calendar.
The 2027 FedExCup season will feature 36 tournaments, all four major championships, THE PLAYERS Championship, eight Signature Events and a three-event FedExCup Playoffs run culminating at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta.
But this isn’t simply another year on Tour.
The schedule brings a dramatically different opening to the season, a new tournament, some major calendar reshuffling and one of the strongest collections of major championship venues golf fans could ask for.
And for golf fans in Texas, 2027 could be an especially memorable year.
Goodbye Hawaii: PGA Tour Will Start 2027 in California
Perhaps the biggest change comes immediately.
For the first time in 56 years, the PGA Tour will not begin its year in Hawaii. The Tour previously confirmed the end of its tournament presence in Maui and began exploring the possibility of moving the Sony Open into a PGA Tour Champions role.
Instead, the 2027 season begins at The American Express at PGA West in La Quinta, California, with tournament rounds scheduled for January 21-24.
Then things get interesting.
The Sentry moves to Torrey Pines Golf Course in San Diego, transforming what had long been associated with Kapalua into a full-field event at one of America’s most recognizable golf venues. The tournament is also scheduled for a rare Saturday finish on January 30.
From there, the West Coast Swing heads to Pebble Beach and Scottsdale.
The 2027 West Coast Swing
The opening stretch includes:
- Jan. 21-24: The American Express — PGA West
- Jan. 28-30: The Sentry — Torrey Pines
- Feb. 4-7: AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am — Pebble Beach and Spyglass Hill
- Feb. 11-14: WM Phoenix Open — TPC Scottsdale
- Feb. 18-21: Genesis Invitational — Riviera Country Club
The WM Phoenix Open once again lands on Super Bowl weekend, setting up one of the biggest sports weekends of the year.
There is also currently a TBD event scheduled opposite the Genesis Invitational, meaning one piece of the 2027 calendar still needs to be finalized.
Florida Swing Gets Shuffled
March brings another noticeable change.
The Cadillac Championship at Trump National Doral moves into an early-March position immediately before THE PLAYERS Championship.
The stretch will run:
Cadillac Championship → THE PLAYERS Championship → Arnold Palmer Invitational → Texas Children’s Houston Open
The Cadillac Championship will be played March 4-7 at Trump National Doral, followed by THE PLAYERS at TPC Sawgrass March 11-14 and the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill March 18-21.
That gives the Tour a powerful run of high-profile events leading directly toward Masters season.
Then Comes Augusta
The 2027 Masters Tournament is scheduled for April 8-11 at Augusta National Golf Club.
From there, the Tour heads to Harbour Town for the RBC Heritage before moving to the Zurich Classic of New Orleans.
But the calendar becomes particularly interesting after that — especially if you’re a golf fan in North Texas.
Texas Becomes One of the Centers of the Golf World
Texas is going to get an extraordinary run of professional golf in 2027.
The CJ CUP Byron Nelson returns to TPC Craig Ranch in McKinney from April 29-May 2.
Then comes something much bigger.
PGA Championship Comes to PGA Frisco
The 2027 PGA Championship will be played at PGA Frisco from May 20-23.
That means one of golf’s four majors will be contested in North Texas, bringing the world’s best players to Frisco and further cementing the region as one of America’s emerging golf hubs.
And immediately afterward?
The Tour doesn’t even leave North Texas.
The Charles Schwab Challenge will be played May 27-30 at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth.

Add the Texas Children’s Houston Open in March and Valero Texas Open in San Antonio immediately before the Masters, and Texas will have a huge presence on the 2027 professional golf calendar.

It is difficult to imagine a much more compelling collection of venues for golf’s four biggest championships.
Pebble Beach Gets Two Massive Events
Pebble Beach will actually appear twice on the 2027 calendar.
The AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am arrives in February before the course takes center stage again in June for the U.S. Open.
That gives golf fans two opportunities to see the world’s best competing at one of the sport’s most recognizable venues.
St Andrews Returns to the Spotlight
Then comes July.
The Open Championship returns to the Old Course at St Andrews, with championship week scheduled for July 15-18.
Few things in golf carry the history of an Open Championship at the Home of Golf.
With Pebble Beach hosting the U.S. Open just weeks earlier, the summer portion of the 2027 season should deliver two spectacular major championship settings back-to-back.
New Sompo Championship Added
The PGA Tour is also introducing the Sompo Championship, scheduled for July 29-August 1 at Silverado Resort in Napa, California.
It will serve as the penultimate tournament of the FedExCup regular season.
Silverado isn’t unfamiliar territory for Tour players. The property hosted a PGA Tour event from 2014 through 2025, but the Sompo Championship arrives under a new identity as the Tour prepares for much larger structural changes beginning in 2028.
The Race to the FedExCup
The regular season concludes with the newly named GO by Raymond James at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro from August 5-8.
Then the pressure really begins.
The 2027 FedExCup Playoffs will consist of:
Aug. 12-15 — FedEx St. Jude Championship
TPC Southwind — Memphis
Aug. 19-22 — BMW Championship
Liberty National Golf Club — Jersey City
Aug. 26-29 — TOUR Championship
East Lake Golf Club — Atlanta
The BMW Championship’s move to Liberty National, with the Manhattan skyline providing the backdrop, should make for one of the most visually striking playoff stops in recent memory.
The final 30 players will then head to East Lake, where the FedExCup champion will be crowned.
2027 Is Also the End of an Era
There is another reason this schedule matters.
2027 represents the final season before the PGA Tour undergoes a significant competitive restructuring in 2028.
Beginning in 2028, the Tour plans to introduce a Championship Series and Challenger Series, with the Championship Series featuring 24 event weeks and a dramatically redesigned season-ending structure.
The Tour has also announced plans for a revamped match-play TOUR Championship beginning in 2028.
That makes 2027 something of a bridge between two generations of the PGA Tour.
The Bottom Line
There is a lot to like about the 2027 PGA Tour schedule.
The season starts differently.
Torrey Pines gets a new role.
Pebble Beach gets two major moments.
The PGA Championship comes to Frisco.
The U.S. Open heads to Pebble Beach.
