The Tennessee-born comedian has set a new Guinness World Record for the most tickets sold for a stand-up comedy tour, with his massive Big Dumb Eyes tour surpassing 2 million tickets sold.
According to figures reported Saturday, Bargatze’s ongoing tour reached 2,016,254 tickets sold, breaking a record that had stood for nearly two decades.
The previous record belonged to comedian and ventriloquist Jeff Dunham, whose Spark of Insanity tour sold 1,981,720 tickets.
For Bargatze, the milestone represents more than another successful comedy tour. It confirms just how dramatically his audience has grown — and how far stand-up comedy has expanded into the arena-sized entertainment business.

Jeff Dunham established the previous Guinness benchmark with his Spark of Insanity tour, which sold 1,981,720 tickets during its historic run.
That record survived for roughly two decades before Bargatze finally pushed past it.
The difference between the two totals is already more than 34,000 tickets, and Bargatze’s tour has continued to include major arena performances.
Bargatze was also set to receive his official Guinness World Records certificate onstage at Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena on August 15.
From Stand-Up Comic to Arena Headliner
Bargatze’s rise has been remarkable because his comedy style is almost the opposite of what many might expect from an arena-sized entertainer.
