2026 PGA Championship at Aronimink: Schedule, Favorites, TV Coverage & Key StorylinesThe 2026 PGA Championship heads to Aronimink Golf Club May 11–17 with Scottie Scheffler leading a stacked field. Full schedule, TV coverage, ticket details, and top storylines.

The second major championship of the golf season has officially arrived, and this week the sports world turns its attention to historic Aronimink Golf Club in Pennsylvania. The 2026 PGA Championship runs from May 11–17 and brings together 156 of the best golfers on the planet. Fans can expect four days of drama, pressure-packed moments, and elite competition on one of golf’s most respected courses.

Entering the week, world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler stands as the clear favorite after dominating last year’s championship. Meanwhile, stars like Rory McIlroy and Cameron Young are looking to challenge for the Wanamaker Trophy.

A Historic Week at Aronimink

Located just outside Philadelphia, Aronimink Golf Club is known for its classic design and demanding layout. Thick rough, strategic bunkers, and lightning-fast greens are expected to challenge every player in the field.

Over the years, Aronimink has hosted several prestigious tournaments. However, the 2026 PGA Championship represents one of the club’s biggest modern moments. Thousands of fans are expected throughout the week, creating a major-event atmosphere around the property.

The golf course has earned praise for rewarding precision and smart decision-making rather than pure power. Because of that, fans could see a dramatic leaderboard filled with both veteran champions and rising stars.

  • CBS: 1 p.m. – 7 p.m. ET

Fans who prefer streaming can also follow the action through ESPN+ and Paramount+. Coverage throughout the week is expected to include featured groups, player interviews, practice-round content, and live tournament analysis.

Scottie Scheffler Chasing Back-to-Back PGA Titles

No storyline entering the week is bigger than the pursuit of another major title by Scottie Scheffler. The defending champion enters the tournament with momentum, confidence, and the betting odds on his side.

Scheffler has separated himself from much of professional golf through elite ball striking and remarkable consistency. Oddsmakers currently list him around +480 to win the championship. Another PGA Championship victory would further cement his status as the dominant player of this era.

Back-to-back victories at a major championship are extremely rare in modern golf. Achieving that milestone would place Scheffler in elite company and strengthen conversations about his long-term legacy in the sport.

Rory McIlroy Still Searching for Another Major

Although Scheffler headlines the field, many fans remain focused on Rory McIlroy and his pursuit of another major championship.

McIlroy enters the week with odds around +850 and continues to be one of the sport’s most recognizable stars. His combination of power, experience, and major championship success always makes him dangerous on demanding golf courses.

At the same time, Cameron Young continues to emerge as one of the most exciting younger players in the game. Entering the championship around +1200 odds, Young is still searching for his first major title and could become one of the breakout stories of the week.

One Big Name Missing From the Field

One notable absence from this year’s tournament is Phil Mickelson, who will not compete in the 2026 PGA Championship.

Mickelson’s absence marks another reminder of the changing landscape in professional golf. Fans still remember his historic PGA Championship victory several years ago, when he shocked the sports world by becoming the oldest major champion in history.

Even without Mickelson in the field, the tournament remains packed with star power and compelling storylines from top to bottom.

Ticket Prices Continue to Rise

The PGA Championship has evolved into one of the biggest entertainment events in sports, and ticket prices continue to reflect that demand.

Single-day practice round tickets begin around $91. Premium hospitality packages and club-level experiences can exceed $1,400 per day depending on the location and amenities included.

Golf’s popularity has surged over the last several years, especially during major championship weeks. Fans now travel from around the country to attend these events, creating an atmosphere that feels closer to a championship festival than a traditional golf tournament.

Why This Week Matters

Major championships carry a different level of pressure compared to regular PGA Tour events. Careers and legacies are often shaped during weeks like this.

Younger players see the PGA Championship as an opportunity to become household names. Veteran stars view it as a chance to add another defining moment to their careers. Fans, meanwhile, get four straight days of unforgettable golf and nonstop drama.

Weather conditions, course setup, and pressure-packed moments on Sunday afternoon will likely determine who lifts the Wanamaker Trophy. One great round can change a player’s career forever.

Whether the week ends with another dominant performance from Scheffler or a breakthrough from a rising star, the 2026 PGA Championship is already one of the biggest sporting events of the spring.
